Norma LaVeck

Norma LaVeck, 85, of Lancaster, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, in the presence of her Lord, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on Wednesday, December 27, 1939. She was blessed with 65 years of marriage to her husband, Jack. She loved spending time with her husband and family. She enjoyed cooking, family picnics, decorating, art, antiques, traveling to classic car shows with her husband, and cheering on her grandson at soccer games. Over the years, she became an artist and a proud member of the Central Ohio Watercolor Society (COWS), with her artwork displayed on the Lancaster Festival Art Walk for many years. She also attended Faith Memorial Church and encouraged her family in their faith and walk with God.

Norma is survived by her husband, Jack LaVeck; daughter, Cynthia LaVeck of Bloomingburg, Ohio; son, Jack (Brenda) LaVeck of Carroll, Ohio; grandchildren, Maeve O'Connor and Collin LaVeck; great-grandchild, Grace O'Connor; sister, Bonnie Pelzer; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Helen Burns; step-father, Robert Burns; father, Eugene Geil; sister, Carolyn Boynton, and brother, Robert (Bobby) Burns.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at noon at the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home Chapel, 405 N. Columbus Street, Lancaster, Ohio, 43130, with Pastor Mike Wyatt officiating. A live broadcast of the funeral service will be hosted on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at noon on the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home and Crematory Facebook page. Burial service will follow at South Solon Cemetery, South Solon, Ohio. Family and friends may visit on Tuesday from 10:00 am until the time of the service.

The family wishes to express their thanks to The Springs at Wyandot Trail staff who provided exceptional comfort, personal care, and love during her extended stay.
