Opal Grimes

Opal Grimes, 90, passed away at Violet Springs Health Campus on Wednesday, April 3, 2024. She was born in Illinois on September 16, 1933, to the late Tony and Gladys (Neely) Harris.

Opal was a graduate of Brookport High School. She was known as a ‘snowbird’ because she enjoyed spending the winters in Estero, FL. Not only did she love to travel to Florida but she also enjoyed traveling everywhere. 

Opal is survived by her children, Daphne Boling, Marlene (Kenny) George, Sharon (Mike) Wiles; sister, Deanna Butler, 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Charlie; son, Mike Grimes; son-in-law, Gerry Boling, and brother Tony Wayne Harris. 

A funeral service will take place Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at 5:00 PM at Frank E. Smith Funeral Home, 405 N Columbus Street, Lancaster, OH. Friends and family may visit from 3:00 PM until the time of the service. Caring Cremation® will follow.
