Patricia “Patty” Lynn Meade, 69, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 2, 2026.
Patty was born in Columbus, Ohio to the late James and Virginia Coffmon. Patty and Lacy’s love story began in the 1970’s on one sunny afternoon on Tompkins Street. Lacy was making his way through the neighborhood when he stumbled upon a beautiful woman with auburn hair, short shorts, and a tube top under the hood of her car on top of the motor independently working, when he asked her if she needed help…and the rest is his story and her story together. Patty and Lacy had a beautiful life together. They were successful entrepreneurs for 26+ years installing carpet together. Partners in business, partners in love.
Patricia was a kind-hearted soul who taught her children and grandchildren everything they know. She was the type of woman who always had a listening ear and a shoulder to cry on, and let’s not forget, a mean right hook. She was the holder of all secrets, beacon of all knowledge, and the most beautiful person we were all so lucky to have known. She loved planting in her garden and re-potting flowers she received as gifts. She also loved cooking, having family over for holidays, and any excuse to spend time with family. If you were lucky enough to know Patty and experience her love, you know there’s nothing that could compare. Patty never went anywhere without her Hawaiian tropic dark tanning oil and her nails done. Specifically the press on nails from CVS with Kiss nail glue, and lets not forget her feathers. Patty is irreplaceable, whether you called her your wife, mother, mawmaw, sister, cousin, aunt, or friend her love will always be in our hearts and souls. Patty will never be forgotten. To know her is to love her.
Patty is survived by her husband Lacy A. Meade; children James Meade, Melissa Blanton, Rodney Blanton, and Nicholas (Karen) Meade; grandchildren Nathan (Taylor) Meade, Tansem Blanton, Trevor (Kalena) Blanton, Talya (Selena) Blanton, Kaiden Blanton-Rogers, Micaela (Keegan) Meade, Joshua (Anna) Meade, Kaitlyn Meade, Christopher Meade, Tiaja Blanton, Mi’yae Blanton; 11 great grandchildren; brothers Rich (Carol) Coffmon, Brian (Debbie) Coffmon, Tim (Tina) Coffmon, Roger (Mary) Coffmon, Greg (Lori) Coffmon, and Chris (Amy) Coffmon; and sisters Janet (Don), Donna (Jim), Regina, and Cindy (George).
She is preceded in death by her parents; and brothers Jimmy Dale and Danny Coffmon.
