Patty Sells Daubenmire

Lancaster: Patty Sells Daubenmire, age 83, of Lancaster, passed away March 26 at Carriage Court of
Lancaster.

Born Aug. 27, 1927 in Lancaster, she is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Betty (Fosnaugh)
Sells and brother Dr. Robert “Duke” L. Sells of Geneseo, New York.

Survived by loving husband of 60 years James E. and children Becky (Dale) Martin, Jim (Carolyn)
Daubenmire, Tom (Carol) Daubenmire, Susan (Tom) Tobin, and Lisa (Scott) Stiving; grandchildren Abby
(Phil) Herington, Andy (Julie) Daubenmire, Philip (Michelle), Kevin, Stuart and Elizabeth Daubenmire,
Amy and Emily Martin, Dan, Jimmy and Lydia Stiving, and Aubrey and Allie Tobin; great-grandchildren
Molly Herington and Sophia Daubenmire; brothers William (Terry) Sells and Michael (Susan) Sells; sister
Joan (Marvin) Stafford; sister-in-law Pat Sells; brother-in-law Bill Daubenmire; nieces and nephews.

Patty is a 1945 graduate of Lancaster High School, and graduated in 1949 from The Ohio State University
with a degree in accounting. She retired from the treasurer’s office of the Lancaster City School District
in 1987 after 20 years of service.

A lifelong volunteer, Patty was a member of the First United Methodist Church for 62 years, where she
sang in the choir and served the church through Sunday School, the infant nursery and Bible School for
many years. She also served as a 4-H and Cub Scout Leader. Her life centered around her family and
their activities.

The family is grateful for the loving care provided by the staff at Carriage Court of Lancaster and
Fairhope Hospice and Palliative Care.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday March 31 at First United Methodist Church with
Robert McDowell officiating. Frank E. Smith Funeral Home is providing cremation services. The family
will receive friends at the Rising House, corner of Wheeling and High Streets, from 5:00 - 7:30 p.m. on
Wednesday March 30 and one hour prior to the memorial service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials in Patty's name to the First United Methodist Church,
163 E. Wheeling Street, Lancaster, OH 43130.
