Paul Richard Azbell

Lancaster - Paul Richard Azbell, 63, died Monday, December 12, 2022 at Fairfield Medical Center due to complications of sepsis.

Paul was born October 30, 1959, in Lancaster, to Alva Gene and Evelyn Louise Azbell. He graduated from Bloom-Carroll High School in 1978. Paul went on to earn a bachelor's degree in business finance from Ohio University in 1982. He was a math wizard and had a natural talent for mathematics since he was a child. Throughout his career he worked in finance, and was a manager for Beneficial Finance, Fairfield Mortgage, and Eagle Loan Company. He was passionate about playing and attending many different sporting events. He was a big supporter of the teams at Bloom-Carroll. Paul was an avid golfer. He won many tournaments and recently won his golf league. He also enjoyed camping with his family, and friends. Paul married Lisa Marie Hillyard on May 9, 1995 in Waikiki, Hawaii in an intimate ceremony. Paul adored his wife, and his girls.

Paul will be greatly missed by his family, and friends.

He is survived by his wife Lisa Azbell; his daughters Rachel and Jenna Azbell; mother Evelyn Azbell; sisters Connie (Steve) Berta, and Barb (Dave) Baughman; as well as 3 dogs and 4 cats.

Paul is preceded in death by his father Alva Gene Azbell; and his cousins Gary and Jerry Sheets.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at 11:00 AM in the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home Chapel, 405 N. Columbus St. Lancaster, OH 43130. Calling hours will be Monday, December 19, 2022 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM, and one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Forest Rose Cemetery.
