Paul A. Darling, Sr., 67, of Lancaster passed away on Saturday, January 01, 2011.
Paul was a Master Welder and a welders union member. He retired from Waukesha Cherry-Burrell in Louisville, KY and from the Kroger Tamarack Farms Dairy in Newark, OH. Paul also worked as a corrections officer at the former Ohio State Penitentiary. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, and reading. Paul also loved good conversation with family and friends. He was a volunteer Firefighter and EMT with the Buckeye Lake Fire Department. Paul was a huge Buckeyes fan and loved his five Boston Terriers.
Paul is survived by his wife of 21 years, Connie Sue Darling; daughters, Tracy (Floyd) Pettet III and Nikki (David) Nance; sons, Joseph Jay Darling, Randy (Andrea) Darling, and Chris (Chrissy) Darling; grandchildren, Brittany, Laura, Erin, Ryan, Hunter, Megan, Shawn, Kiara, Jessica, Brad, Paul III, Kasy, Keaten, Korbin, Tiffany, Tonya, Nathan, and Ashley; numerous great-grandchildren; best friend for 65 years, Gilbert Metcalf; and close cousins, Paul Leroy Darling and Buddy McCoy.
He was preceded in death by his sons, Paul A. Darling, Jr. and Michael E. Darling; parents, John Paul and Lenora Darling; and brother, David Darling.
Friends may visit from 5 to 7:30 PM Tuesday at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, Lancaster, with an opportunity for sharing memories at 7:30 PM at the funeral home. Caring Cremation will follow the services.
