Paul W. Wacker, a devoted father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on May 13, 2025, at The Springs at Wyandot Trail. He was born on March 27, 1937, to Gail Wacker and Margaret Wacker-Graves. Paul lived a remarkable life that was characterized by his work ethic, military service, and dedication to family and community.
Paul had a varied career, working with esteemed organizations such as B.I.S., Anchor Hocking Glass Corporation, and Curtis Industries. He held his broker's license and owned and operated Wacker Realty for an impressive 50 years, showcasing his entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to his profession.
His commitment to service extended beyond his career, as he proudly served in the U.S. Army. He was a longstanding member of Masonic Lodge #57 F&AM and the Aladdin Temple Shrine, where he forged bonds of brotherhood and camaraderie with fellow members. His love for life was evident through his passions—he obtained his private airplane license and enjoyed playing euchre as well as participating in square dancing.
Paul's dedication to family was unwavering. He leaves behind his beloved children: Heidi (Dr. Keith) Bergeron of Hayes, VA, Paul W. (Karen Cook) Wacker of Lancaster, and James T. (Virginia) Wacker of Tampa, FL. He was a proud grandfather to Valeriana Wacker, James J. Wacker, Alex Cook, and Sarah Cook. Paul also had a special companion for 35 years, Sheila "Joy" Grove, alongside her children who thought of Paul as dad, Lance Grove and Shannon Grove and their children, Raychel Grove and Landon Grove who affectionately called him pawpaw. He is mourned by his sister, Jeannie Secoy of Lancaster.
A visitation for Paul W. Wacker will be held on May 21, 2025, from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at The Frank E. Smith Funeral Home in Lancaster, Ohio. Caring Cremation has taken place. Following the visitation, a graveside service is scheduled for the same day at Forest Rose Cemetery, beginning at 1:00 PM.
Paul W. Wacker will be remembered for his kindness, strong values, and the lasting impact he made on the lives of those who knew him. His legacy will continue through the cherished memories he created with his family and friends.
