PFC Connor David Kirkpatrick, 21, passed away on July 16, 2026, alongside his beloved wife, Kristin Elizabeth Morris Kirkpatrick, as the result of a tragic car accident.
Connor was born on April 14, 2005, in Zanesville, Ohio. He attended Liberty Union Middle and High School and graduated in 2023. While in high school, he was a four-year member of the Liberty Union Marching, Concert, and Pep Bands, where he played the sousaphone and tuba. Connor was a tattoo enthusiast who loved working out with his friends, hiking, camping, and hammocking with his family, building DIY construction projects, assembling Legos, and riding bicycles with his brother.
Connor was always passionate about military service and enlisted in 2024. He was stationed at Fort Bragg and serving on active duty as a Private First Class, Parachute Rigger, in the United States Army.
Although they were both LU grads, with Kristin graduating in 2022, their relationship didn’t begin until after high school. Their love was intense from the start, and they were soon inseparable. Six months later, they were engaged during a trip to the Bahamas and married on September 9, 2025, in Fayetteville, NC. They took every chance to embark on new adventures while living in Spring Lake, NC. Connor and Kristin had created a community of laughter and love with coworkers and friends, while maintaining close ties with their great friends back home. They were very much in love, and it was them against the world. Their two cats, Minnie Millennium and Biscuit, were ornery and lovely additions to their family.
Left to honor his memory are his parents Trent and Amanda Cowgill, his siblings Gavin, Marley August, Gabe, Scarlett, and Trevor; many incredible friends; and a supportive community here and in North Carolina.
Calling hours for Connor and Kristin will be August 1, 2026, from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m., at Liberty Union High School Auditorium, 500 W Washington St, Baltimore, OH, with a joint service and sharing of stories to follow at 3 p.m. Full military honors will follow the service.
