Rev. Frederick R. Sharritts, age 85 of Lancaster, went to be with his Lord on Aug. 23, 2022 at the Pickering House. He was born in Connersville, IN on Sept. 30, 1936. He graduated from Wilmingon College and then Seminary at Drew University. He was a United Methodist minister from 1963 until retiring from Cavalry United Methodist Church in Bremen. He was a devoted member of the Masons starting in 1964 and held positions throughout several Masonic bodies. He was the Chaplain for the Sons of the American Revolution. Rev. Sharritts was a devoted man of God, who loved is family and his congregations deeply. His amazing personality and love for life will be greatly cherished.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Patricia L. Sharritts; children, Paul (Debbie) Sharritts, John Sharritts, Stephen Sharritts, and Kathleen (Lee) Holmes; grandchildren, Pamela Sharritts, Ashley (Tommy) Paul, Courtney (Jon) Hooper, Aaron (Anna) Swope, Stephanie (Greg) Sharritts-Fyffe, Amy Swope, and Sarah Holmes; great grandchildren, Alex, Brandon, Rangely, Remington, Bastion, and Nora; sister, Barbara Shroder; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Nora Sharritts, and daughter-in-law, Janet Sharritts.
A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 30, at 10:30AM at the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. G. William Pursley; burial will follow at Forrest Rose Cemetery.
