Richard Dallast Heimberger II, 56, known lovingly to family and friends as Rich or Richie, passed away on Friday, April 24, 2026. He was born on February 6, 1970 in Lancaster, Ohio.
Richie was a dedicated softball player, an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, and a social man with many friends and lots of words. He loved playing cards, riding his motorcycle, enjoying all things outdoors like fires and bird/squirrel watching, and caring for his dogs. Above all else, he cared deeply for his family. He provided care for his wife, took tremendous pride in being a grandfather and spoiling them endlessly, and showed so much love for his kids.
Those who knew Rich will remember him for his humor, his friendliness, and his effortless ability to make others feel comfortable. His friends and family knew him as someone who could make them laugh, offer encouragement, and provide care in difficult times. He was deeply genuine and those qualities made him unforgettable to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Rich is survived by his wife of 26 years, Jenny (Jordan) Heimberger; children, Zack Warren, Courtney Heimberger (Marcus Huntz), Hannah Durrett (Doug), and Katie Heimberger (Chase Wymer); grandchildren, Brodey and Emma Warren and Iris and Chase Wymer Jr,; mother-in-law Barb Jordan; brother-in-law Jeremy Jordan, as well as aunts, uncles, nieces, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his mother Diane Heimberger (Ray Shook), grandparents Paul and Viola Mock, and father-in-law Roger Jordan.
Visitation will take place Sunday, May 3, 2026 from 4-6PM at the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home, 405 N. Columbus Street, Lancaster, OH 43130. A private burial service for the family will be on Monday, May 4, 2026. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Rich’s name to the Perry County Dog Shelter, 1650 Commerce Drive, New Lexington, OH 43764.
