Rosetta Hoover, age 93, a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, custodian, and bus driver at the Liberty Union Schools, has peacefully passed away at the Pickering House on July 12, 2024. She was known for her dedication to her work, enjoying the company of children and friends . Rosetta found joy in simple pleasures, particularly her love for strawberry milkshakes, indulging in at least three a week throughout her lifetime.
Her vibrant personality shone through as she cherished moments of laughter and being surrounded by her beloved family. Rosetta's hobbies included treasuring time spent with her grandchildren, watching all 20 seasons of the Western series "Gunsmoke," and listening to televangelist Jimmy Swaggart.
Throughout her life, Rosetta's proudest accomplishments were her family and unwavering faith in God. She found strength and purpose in her relationships and beliefs, shaping the legacy she leaves behind.
Rosetta was a soul deeply loved, and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her son Byron "Biff" LeMaster, husband, Robert Hoover, parents Jacob and Daisy Sturgeon Harrod, sister Vivian, brothers Sylvester, Carl, and Jake Jr., as well as two grandchildren.
She is survived by a loving family including her children: Judy (Bob) Cleland, Tim Hoover, Robin (Dan) Henderson, Mark Hoover, Crystal (Randy) Fuller, Robert "Pete" Hoover Jr., Tena (John) Singleton, stepchildren Christine (Jim) Swain, Ralph Hoover, Albert Hoover, along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Her sister Alicia Claytor, as well as several nieces and nephews also mourn her passing.
A visitation to honor Rosetta's memory will take place on July 16th at the Johnson-Smith Funeral Home in Baltimore from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM followed by a Funeral Service at the same location from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memory Garden. In celebrating Rosetta's life, may we find comfort in the beautiful memories she has left with us forever.
