Sandra Rae Hostutler

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, Sandra Rae Hostutler (Gaskins). On August 1, 2026, at the age of 87, Sandra was called home to be with her Lord and Savior.

Sandra was born on August 9, 1938, in Barrackville, West Virginia, to Fay and Beulah (Musgrove) Gaskins.

On December 12, 1959, Sandra married the love of her life, Donald “Don” Paul Hostutler. Together they built a beautiful life and shared nearly 64 years of marriage before Don’s passing in 2023. Their marriage was a remarkable example of unwavering love, faithfulness, and devotion.

Sandra dedicated her life to caring for others. While she worked outside the home at times, her greatest joy and highest calling was being a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She possessed a truly selfless servant’s heart, always putting the needs of others before her own and finding her greatest fulfillment in caring for those she loved.

She especially adored babies and treasured every opportunity to nurture them. Her home was a place of warmth, comfort, and unconditional love, where family and friends always knew they were welcome. She loved cooking meals for those gathered around her table, tending to her beautiful flower gardens, playing softball, and taking pride in caring for her home. She was always willing to lend a helping hand, never expecting anything in return, and her quiet acts of kindness touched countless lives.

Sandra loved the Lord and faithfully attended Madison Christian Church for many years until the progression of dementia no longer allowed her to do so. Though dementia gradually changed many things, it never diminished the love she had given so freely throughout her life, nor the love her family has for her.

Sandra’s life was defined not by what she accomplished for herself, but by the countless ways she cared for others. Her greatest joy was found in serving her family, loving without condition, and faithfully putting the needs of others before her own. She leaves behind a legacy of selfless love, kindness, generosity, unwavering faith, and quiet strength. Her gentle spirit, compassionate heart, and steadfast devotion to her family will continue to live on in each generation she helped raise. She will be dearly missed and forever treasured.

Sandra is survived by her daughter, Lisa Wooten (Kenneth); son, Jon Hostutler; granddaughters, Jordan Fox (Josh), Jessa Fleharty (Daniel), Sock Hostutler, and Arielle Poppe (Nathaniel); grandsons, Joseph Wooten (Jordan) and Jakob Valentine (Nicole); great-grandsons, Jaden Fox (fiancée Lexus), Jace Fox, Jonah Wooten, Jude Fox, Jaqen Wooten, Jensen Wooten, Jagger Wooten, and Evander Poppe; great-granddaughters, Jackson Fox (fiancé Mikael), Jaryn Fox, Jayla Wooten, Jori Fox, Jorja Wooten, Josie Wooten, Reign Fleharty, and Melody Poppe; and her beloved sister, Linda Hollandsworth. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald Paul Hostutler; her parents, Fay and Beulah (Musgrove) Gaskins; and her brother, Donald Gaskins.

Please join us as we celebrate Sandra’s life on Tuesday, August 4, 2026. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. at Bethany Cemetery off Clearport Road, just south of Chambers Road.
