In loving memory of Saundra "Sandy" Hoover, who peacefully departed this world on September 9, 2026, just shy of her 78th birthday. Born on September 11, 1948, in the charming town of Weston, West Virginia, Sandy was the beloved daughter of Charles and Lorraine Goldsmith. She faced life's challenges with grace and courage, ultimately succumbing after a long illness, surrounded by the love of her family. She loved her Bingo, attending church services at the Arbors of Carroll Nursing Center and being a resident arbitrator for the residents.
Sandy was predeceased by several cherished family members, including her devoted husband, Monty Hoover, her dear parents, Charles and Lorraine, her loving daughter Jackie Richards, and her precious grandson Colton Kocher. Though their absence was deeply felt, Sandy's strength and resilience continued to inspire those who knew her. Her legacy lives on through her surviving family: her children, Lorie Mathias of Lancaster, Pete (Angie) Kocher of Lancaster, Sarah Barnes of Coshocton, Nikki (Lance) Grove of Canal Winchester, and Tammy (Chris) Ervin of Groveport. She is also lovingly remembered by her sister, Charlene (Dan) Yeager of Homosassa, Florida, and sister-in-law, Robin (Roy) Miller of Lancaster, as well as Angie (Randy) Knepp. Sandy's life was further enriched by her 18 adoring grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, who brought her endless joy and pride. She also leaves behind three nieces and one nephew, all of whom she cherished deeply. Sandy was known for her warm heart, infectious laughter, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends. Her home was a sanctuary filled with love, laughter, and the aroma of delicious meals cooked with love. She had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel special and welcomed, leaving a lasting impact on all who were fortunate enough to know her. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Adena Fairfield Medical Center for the compassionate care and support they provided to Sandy during her time of need. Their kindness and dedication brought comfort to her and her loved ones, for which they are eternally grateful. Caring Cremation® is being handled by the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, LANCASTER, OHIO.
In honor of Sandy's generous spirit and her love for community, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to a charity of your choice, in lieu of flowers. As we bid farewell to a remarkable woman, we celebrate the beautiful life she lived and the love she shared so freely. Sandy's spirit will continue to shine brightly in our hearts, guiding us with her wisdom and love. May she rest in eternal peace, reunited with those she dearly missed.
