Scott E. Wills, a devoted family man, dedicated public servant, and cherished member of the Lancaster community, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2026, after a long fought battle. Born on December 31, 1951, in Lancaster, Ohio, Scott’s life was marked by his deep commitment to both his work and his loved ones, and he will be remembered with great respect and affection.
A lifelong resident of Lancaster, Scott was a proud graduate of Lancaster High School's Class of 1970. Following his education, he dedicated 31 years of exemplary service to The City of Lancaster Gas Department, where he worked as a construction supervisor. His professionalism and dedication made a lasting impact on the department and the community he served.
Scott’s passions extended far beyond his career. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and family, attending family sports events, and spending quality time with those closest to him. An enthusiastic supporter of sports, he loved cheering on the Ohio State University Football Team, the Cleveland Browns, and the Cincinnati Reds. When not watching the games, Scott found pleasure in working in his yard, embracing the simple joys of everyday life.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Marcy, with whom he shared countless cherished moments. Together, they built a loving family that Scott adored. His son, Chad (Jessie) Wills of Lancaster, and his daughters Erin (Shane) DeJardin of Niagara, Wisconsin, Michele (Stephen) Matchett, and Megan (Ryan Whipps), both of Lancaster, carry forward his legacy of kindness and strength. Scott was a proud grandfather to Madyson, Emma, Brielle, Mia, Evan, Sawer, and Fallon, and great-grandfather to Hadyn, McAlister, and another on the way, who all held a special place in his heart. Also surviving him is his sister Marty (Bud) Baker of Lancaster, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins, who will remember him fondly.
Scott was preceded in death by his loving parents, Harry Dean and Margaret Ann Wills, whose memory he honored throughout his life.
