Sharon L. Koksal

Sharon L. Koksal; 86, of Lancaster, and formerly of Bradenton, FL passed away on October 2, 2025 at the Pickering House.

Sharon was born October 11, 1938 in Decatur, IL to the late Margaret and Garold Neathery. As the eldest child she exhibited a strong sense of responsibility in helping her mother care for her brother and sister following the untimely death of her father. Her steadfast love and support for family and her many friends continued throughout her life.

As her children matured, she took on a succession of successful careers: an award-winning real estate agent in Lancaster in the 1970’s, co-managing a beachside condominium complex on the Florida gulf coast with husband Kirk; and a practicing nurse in Bradenton, FL well into her 70’s. Always known for her sharp wit, Sharon was fun to be around and will be missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Tuncer “Kirk” Koksal; brother, David; and parents.

Her work on this earth is done, she passed away peacefully Tuesday morning and now joins Kirk and her many well-loved family members in heaven.

Sharon is survived by her children, Cevdet “Jeff” (Carol) and Aylin Koksal; grandchildren, Daniel (Savannah), Alex (Justine), and Andrew; sister, Marilyn; nieces and nephews, Cristine, Steve, Erin, David Sean, Mathew, and Adrienne.

A reception for neighborhood friends will take place at a later date, with a grave-side service to follow at the family plot in Decatur, IL in Fairlawn Cemetery.
