Shirley Ward Smeck

Shirley VanArsdalen Ward Smeck, 79, of Groveport, passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2015, at the Pickering House.
Shirley was a graduate of Thurston High School and the Ohio State University - School of Nursing. Shirley served as a Captain in the United States Air Force and a Major in the United States Army Reserve.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Richard Smeck; son, John (Angela) Ward; daughter, Leigh Anne Ward; sisters, Martha Dowd and Sharon (Robert) Snider; step-son, Michael (Marlene) Smeck; grandsons, Jared Desantis, Johnathon Ward, and Dustin (Paula) Smeck; granddaughters, Nicole Ward and August Desantis; great grandson, Cameron Michael Smeck; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph A. and Mary Ellen VanArsdalen; and sister, Louise Lehman.
Caring Cremation has taken place through the JOHNSON-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, Baltimore.
