Thomas Shurtz

Thomas E. Shurtz 77 of Lancaster, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Fairfield Medical Center. He served in the US Navy and was a retired microbiologist for Fairfield Medical Center.

He was a member of the Rose of Sharon Church.

Thomas is survived by his wife of 51 years, Carolyn Shurtz; daughter, Tracy (Mike) Snoke; son, Troy (Dianna) Shurtz all of Lancaster, Ohio; grandchildren, Fallon Pahl, Erica Ankrom, Madison (Brandon) Hall, Jagger Snoke and Ryder Snoke; great-granddaughter, Lily Pahl; sister, Linda (George) Harden of Vienna, Ohio; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and Charles Shurtz.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, January 5, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at the Lancaster Vineyard Church, 431 Whiley Rd. SW, Lancaster, Ohio 43130 with Pastor Vernon Banker officiating. Caring Cremation® has taken place by the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home and Crematory, Lancaster, Ohio.

Friends may visit Thursday from 5:30-7:00 p.m. at the church.
