Timothy Edward Thornton, 40, of Lancaster, Ohio, passed away at his home on Saturday, May 23, 2026.
Tim was born on May 20, 1986, in Cleveland, Ohio, and spent most of his life in his hometown of Reynoldsburg, Ohio. He graduated from Reynoldsburg High School and Eastland Career Center in 2005. Before suffering a stroke, Tim spent much of his career at John Glenn International Airport, where he combined his love of aviation with his work. He had a deep passion for airplanes and flight simulators, and aviation remained one of his greatest interests throughout his life.
Tim loved traveling the world and visiting friends across the globe. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, was a history buff who enjoyed watching war movies, and loved spending time gaming on the computer with his nephew, Huntley, and several friends. After his stroke, Tim discovered a passion for 3D printing and thoughtfully designed and created countless items for friends and family. Tim was selfless, incredibly thoughtful, and kind to everyone he met. He was always happiest when creating things for others and sharing his hobbies with the people he loved.
Tim was a loving brother and proud uncle. He treasured every moment he spent with his niece & nephew. He enjoyed sharing his hobbies and making memories with them.
Tim is survived by his mother, Carolyn Thornton; his sister, Elizabeth Martin (Scott); his nephew, Huntley Bonner; his niece, Finley Bonner; his uncles and aunts, Chuck Thornton (Linda), Theresa Foster (Judd), Jimmy Bushby (Ann), Mark Bushby, Stacy Thirion (Ty), Kathy Ball (Bill), Christine Henne (Steve), and Barbara Paxton; his cousins, Ashley Hines, Harlea Farley, Halea Hahn, Brett Henne, Kristen Dye, Grant Bushby, Madison Ball, Colton Ball, Kyle Paxton, Curtis Paxton, Sidney Paxton, Sienna Reid, Jake Bushby, Lindsay Bushby, Grady Thirion, Gwen Thirion, Jesse Foster, Josie Foster, and Jennifer Bushby; his grandmother, Lois Bushby; and his lifelong best friend, Mike Beckner.
He was preceded in death by his father, Greg Bushby; his uncle, Jerry Bushby; his aunts, Joanne Bushby and Karen Thornton; and his grandparents, Carol Thornton and Jerome Bushby.
