William "Bill" Hough

William “Bill” Hough, 84, of Stoutsville, Ohio, passed away at his residence on Monday, October 20, 2025. He was born to the late Robert and Eleanor (Limpert) Hough on Friday, August 18, 1941 in Erie, Pennsylvania.

Bill graduated from East High School in Erie, PA. He received a Bachelor’s Degree from Edinboro University in PA, a Master’s Degree from University of Toledo and an Accounting Degree from Franklin University in Columbus. He was an active member of First Presbyterian Church in Lancaster. He also was a proud Gideon. Bill was a huge sports fan, always cheering on his favorite teams; Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Guardians, and Cleveland Cavaliers. He was an Ohio High School Official for sporting events for several years.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Marilynn; children, Brian Hough and Melissa (Michael) Gloyd; grandchildren, Robert, Maxine, and Michael Gloyd; brother, Dean Hough, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Eleanor Hough; sister, Margaret Himbaugh, and brother, Robert Hough.

A funeral service for Bill will take place on Monday, October 27, 2025 at 11:00 AM at First Presbyterian Church, 222 N. Broad Street, Lancaster, OH with Pastor Nathan Loudon officiating. Friends and family may visit from 2:00-4:00 PM on Sunday, October 26, 2025 at the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home Chapel, 405 N. Columbus Street, Lancaster, OH. Burial will follow the service Monday at Amanda Township Cemetery in Amanda.
