Gerald "Jerry" Bennett

Gerald “Jerry” Bennett went to be with his Lord on June 29th, 2021 at the Pickering House.  He served his country in the U.S. Army. He retired from Anchor Hocking and was a member of the Church of God. He was a past chaplain at Fairfield Medical Center where he enjoyed helping people and praying with them.  He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting always marveling in the splendor of the great outdoors.  He was an avid guitar player and who also liked playing Euchre with the Bennet boys.  He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather whose wonderful personality and love for life will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Barbara Bennett; children, Kelly (Jason) Cassandra, Brent (Kim) Bennett; grandchildren, Clint (Jill) Thress, Barbie Bennett, Donna (Billy) Dressing, and Jessie Bennett; step grandchildren, Jody Swackhammer, Travis (Amber) Eyman, Jacob Cassandra, and Alicia (Tony) Taylor; great grandchildren, Cameron Young, Kayden, Hunter, Landon, Lexi, Kinsley, Rosalie, Gia, Julia, Madi, Khloe, and Ashton; step great grandchildren, Blain and Trace; sister, Geraldine Hill; and several nieces and nephews.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Rosella Bennett, several siblings; daughter, Melissa Bennett; grandson, Jase; and great granddaughter, Kelsey.

Caring Cremation™ has taken place through the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home.  A celebration of Jerry’s life will take place at The River, 2190 Coonpath Rd. Lancaster, OH 43130 on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at 3:30PM.  Online condolences can be made at www.funeralhome.com
