Harold Eugene Moneypenny 94 of Lancaster, Ohio passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2022 at the Pickering House.
He was a World War II US Army veteran. He was an electrician owning Tarhe Electric Co. and later retired from Rockwell International.
Harold was a member of Sixth Avenue United Methodist Church, VFW Post 1516 and American Legion Post #11. He for was a former Boy Scout Troop Commander, avid bowler, official NASCAR and an OSU Football usher with over 30 years.
He is survived by his sons, Ronald (Marie) Moneypenny of Lancaster, Ohio, Larry (Alice) Moneypenny of Hilton Head, South Carolina and Craig (Betsy) Moneypenny of Pickerington, Ohio; daughter, Vickey (John) Miller of Zanesville, Ohio; 12 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren.
Harold was preceded in death by his wife, Violet F. Moneypenny, stepdaughter, Linda Woltz, mother, Rose Barker and sister, Patty Shonk.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, August 19, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at the Sixth Avenue United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Debo Onabanjo officiating. Caring Cremation® has taken place by the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, LANCASTER, OHIO. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. The Lancaster Veterans Burial Detail will conduct military rites at the cemetery. Friends may visit Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home and 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
