Jeffrey L. Hedges

Jeffrey L. Hedges, 76, of Lancaster, Ohio, passed away suddenly at home on March 27, 2021.  He was born December 17, 1944 in Lancaster, Ohio to the late Roxy and Mauddelle (Dillon) Hedges.  He graduated from Lancaster High School in 1963.  He was married to Diana (Notestone) Hedges for 55 years.

He retired from the City of Lancaster Police Department.  He was a member of Mt. Zion U.M.C., was a youth leader at United Brethren in Christ for several years, a member of Lancaster Masonic Lodge #57, Scottish Rite, lifetime member of the Lancaster Old Car Club, member of Anglers Paradise Lake and the Panera coffee gang.  He liked cars, motorcycles, collecting antiques, enjoyed the outdoors, going to his Florida condos, spending time with family, friends and his lap companion, Lilah.

He is survived by a son, Jamie (Angela) Hedges and daughter, Jodi (Peter) Wyman, grandchildren:  Alex (Miranda) White, Esteban Hedges, Daniel (Christina) Bernthold, Clara Bernthold, and Gavin Hedges; 2 great grandchildren, Tristian and Raylan, brother James (Jim) Hedges, brother-in-law, Damon (Lisa) Notestone; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceded in death by in-laws, Edwin L. and Evelyn R. Notestone, brother-in-law, Michael E. Notestone, and sister-in-law, Karen Hedges.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM, on Thursday, April 1, at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 405 N. Columbus St., Lancaster, OH, 43130.  Burial will follow at Greenfield Township Cemetery. Friends and family may call from 5-8:00 PM, on Wednesday, March 31. A Masonic Service will take place at 7:30 PM on Wednesday. A live stream of the service will take place on the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home and Crematory Facebook page at 10:30 AM Thursday.
