Jeffrey “Mongo” S. Wharton 63 of Lancaster, Ohio passed away Friday, October 2, 2020 at Fairfield Medical Center.
He was the owner and operator of Wharton Electric. He was a member of F.O.E. Aries 2120 and the VFW Post #1516. Jeffrey had been a bowling youth instructor, baseball coach and girls softball coach. He enjoyed mushroom hunting, playing the Ohio Lottery, Nascar, Reds and Indians baseball and Ohio State football.
Jeffrey is survived by his son, Ryan (Cindy Kraft) Wharton of Lancaster, Ohio; daughter, Erin Konkler of Ohio; several grandchildren, brothers, William “Bill” (Lori) Wharton of Lancaster, Ohio and Jim (Pam) Wharton of California; special friend and caregiver, Stephanie Holbrook of Circleville, Ohio and her sons, Nathan and Aaron along with other special friends, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Betty Wharton and sister, Rhonda Wharton.
Caring Cremation® is being handled by the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 405 N. COLUMBYUS ST., LANCASTER, OHIO 43130. Family and friends may visit Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
