Lancaster - Kenneth “Dick” Baker, age 85, passed away on January 21, 2023.
He was born on May 30, 1937, in Lancaster to Kenneth E. and Minerva (Bounds) Baker. Kenneth was a 1955 graduate of Lancaster High School. He retired from Anchor Hocking after 41 1⁄2 years as a machinist. Kenneth was a faithful Ohio State football fan and was grateful to be able to attend all of the home games for many years with his son, Jeff. He loved fishing, playing golf, camping, traveling, woodworking, and spending his winters in Florida after retirement. Most of all, Kenneth really enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Kenneth is survived by his wife of 63 years, Joan (married August 30, 1958), son Jeffrey (Lisa) Baker, daughters Joni (Mark Dowdy) and Sheryl; grandchildren Michelle (Ryan) Dick, Kari (Jason) Plank; great grandchildren Brooklyn and Brody Dick, Conner and Olivia Plank; sisters Carolyn Sue Fisher, Judy (Steve) Sims; and several nieces and nephews.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; parents-in-law John Neil and Ruth Shonting; brother Robert Baker; sisters-in-law Bernadine Baker and Marilyn Miller; brothers-in-law Phillip Fisher and Raymond Miller.
Caring Cremation® has taken place, and no visitation will take place, honoring Kenneth’s wishes. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Memorials for Kenneth may be made to FairHope Hospice, 282 Sells Road, Lancaster, or St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 105 E. Mulberry Street, Lancaster.
