Mark Owen Poling

Lancaster – Mark Owen Poling, 71, died unexpectedly Monday, June 20, 2022.

Mark was born, and raised in Lancaster, the son of Ed and Helen Poling. He graduated from Lancaster Highschool in 1968, and went on to attend the Ohio State University where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in history. Mark was fond of bowling, and enjoyed spending time at the Eagles. Above all else, family was most important to Mark.

He is survived by his wife Gale (Gast) Poling; his son Brett (Jennifer Cole) Poling; grandchildren Xaler Johnson and Jaida Poling; brother Todd Poling; and sister-in-law Kris Lindsay.

Mark is preceded in death by his parents; son Sean Poling; and sister-in-law Marla Mechling.

Family and friends are invited to call Friday, June 24, 2022 from 11:00AM - 2:00PM, at the Frank E. Smith funeral home, 405 N. Columbus St. Lancaster, OH 43130. The funeral service will be officiated by Chaplin Kermit Welty, at 2:00PM. Caring Cremation®  to follow.
