Michael "Mick" R. Elder

Michael (Mick) Rodney Elder went to be home with the Lord on June 9, 2022 at Lanfair Rehabilitation Center.

Mick was born to Hallie and Ruth (Cochran) Elder on Jan 9, 1942. He served in the Navy during the Cuban conflict and was an electrician for 40 years with the I.B.E.W. electricians union. He was a member of the American Legion, Amvets and was a Free Mason. He loved hunting and was an avid gun collector.

He is survived by his sister Doris Jean Pierce, nephews Rick (Terri) Kinser and Mark Elder, niece Lori (Brad) Williams, great niece Ashley Williams, great nephew Alex Michel, sister-in-law Mary Jane Elder, special cousins Chip Elder and Bert Elder and best friend Bill Reid.

He was preceded in death by his parents, older brother Robert H. Elder, brother-in-law Ralph Pierce and great niece Andrea LeFever.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, 12:30 pm at the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home, 405 N. Columbus St. Lancaster, OH 43130. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home Monday, June 13 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm.
