Robert Anthony Bruno, Sr.

Robert Anthony Bruno Sr, age 66, of Weirton, West Virginia, passed Monday, January 4, 2021 peacefully in his sleep surrounded by his family in Lancaster, Ohio. Robert was born February 26, 1954 to the late Carolyn Smith and Kenneth Bruno. He married his high school sweetheart, Linda Magnone, of whom he loved and cherished. They raised three sons together, Robert Jr, Michael and Joseph. Robert was a devoted father, friend and coach to many. His huge heart and enormous spirit could light up a room. He loved all of his friends and family with every ounce of his soul. He graduated from Weirton High School and was a faithful member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Weirton. He thoroughly enjoyed football, coaching, hunting, fishing, golfing and being a father. He will be dearly missed by his friends and family.

Robert is preceded in death by his grandmother Marie Culler and his mother Carolyn Smith. He is survived by his children Robert (Allison) Bruno, Michael Bruno, Joseph Bruno, the love of his life Linda Bruno and his grandchildren Breña, Gabriella and Giovanni Bruno.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 am Thursday, January 14, 2021 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Lancaster, Ohio with Father Tyron Tomson as celebrant.  Caring Cremation® has taken place by the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, LANCASTER, OHIO. Inurnment of cremains will be at 1 pm Friday, January 15th, 2021 at St. Paul’s Catholic Cemetery in Weirton, West Virginia.

A very special thanks to Tom Moses with Best EMS for gently transporting him home to his family and everyone from FAIRHOPE Hospice & Palliative Care Inc. of Lancaster, Ohio for their guidance and support in his final days.
