Lancaster – Robert “Bob” L. Kilbarger, 77, died Thursday, March 31, 2022, at Fairfield Medical Center.
Bob was an avid Notre Dame fan. He loved his Irish and could not miss a Saturday football game. Early in his career, Bob worked for Anchor Hocking and then became a sales agent for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company before retiring to do volunteer work. He was a member of Saint Mary of the Assumption, where before his later years served as a liturgical minister for the homebound. He also worked with Meals on Wheels. Bob was a member of the Knights of Columbus, where was a 4th-degree knight.
Bob enjoyed playing and watching multiple sports but ultimately found playing golf his passion. He enjoyed attending and watching his grandchildren participate in sporting events in his later years.
Bob was a giver who never expected anything in return.
Bob is survived by his loving wife Mary (Burchfield) Kilbarger; his children Tami (Scott) Wetzel and Brannon (Darlene) Kilbarger; grandchildren Ethan (Nicole), Emily (Keith), Erin, Aidan, Vanessa, and Ashley; great-grandchildren Emmitt and Cole; his sisters Patricia (Earl) Davis and Marie (Mike) West; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents George Michael and Pauline Norma (Ansberry) Kilbarger; and a brother Steve Shaeffer.
Family and friends are welcome to calling hours from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Monday, April 4, 2022, at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 405 N. Columbus St. Lancaster, OH 43130. A memorial service will be held in the funeral home led by Rev. Fr. James Colopy as celebrant, Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at 11:30 AM. Burial will take place at a late date.
Instead of flowers, the Kilbarger family suggests memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 1404 Goodale Blvd #200, Columbus, OH 43212.
