Ruby Faye (Osborn) Tufts joined her husband John when she was called home on Friday, February 19, 2021. Ruby was born April 28, 1933 in Aid, Ohio near Ironton to the late Frank Osborn and Belva (Estep) Osborn. Ruby and John started their journey together on August 29th, 1950. They were married for 67 years before John passed away in February of 2018.
Ruby and her husband were the former owners of J&R Grille in New Salem. She was also co-owner of the Village Twist in Millersport. She belonged to the Ladies Auxiliary of AMVETS Post 51 where she was a member. Her hobbies included gardening, playing cards and she loved to visit with everyone; she never met a stranger.
She is survived by her children Peggy (Mike) Terry of Rushville and Stanley (Patti) Tufts of Lancaster; grandchildren Michael Terry of Rushville and Michelle (Richard) Peters of Buckeye Lake, Tera (Ron) Bradford of Kettering, Gena Celli of Lancaster and Jeff (Jet) Tufts of Laguana Hills, California, Nicole (Michael) Walker of Somerset, Kurtis Tufts of Lancaster, Ashley (Cody) Laughlin of Buckeye Lake; great-grandchildren, Phillip John Tufts, Chloe Thuler-Tufts, Camden Peters, Luke Tufts, Kane Celli, Chelsea and Donna Glenn, Easton and Finley Walker, and Hannah and Haylen Terry.
She was preceded in death by her husband John, son Phillip Jerome and daughter in law Janie McCafferty-Tufts, siblings Frankie Osborn, June Leasure, Leonard Osborn, Kate Moore, Merle Hinton, Norma Golden and Mary Wiegand, brothers in law Frank Golden, Don Hinton, George Wiggins and Charlie Lozier and special friend Glenna Jean Terry.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at the JOHNSON-SMITH FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 207 S. MAIN ST., BALTIMORE, OHIO 43105 with Pastor Mel Truex officiating. Burial will follow in West Rushville Cemetery. Friends may visit Monday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. In accordance with state mandates, COVID protocols including facial coverings and social distancing will be followed.
